About the Author

Cheryl is an educator, and has focused her career teaching in elementary schools, and as an adjunct instructor at a local college.  Cheryl brings her educational background to her writing children’s stories through her knowledge of best practice in literacy skills instruction.   Cheryl’s experience with teaching reading interventions to English language learners has inspired her writing style to include rich vocabulary. She also has experience in professional development, guiding teachers to best practice in the classroom.  She currently works in St. Michael, Minnesota.

Cheryl resides in suburban Minneapolis with her husband, Tom, and their Maine Coon, Big Cat.  She has three daughters, three granddaughters and two stepchildren.  After recounting imaginative tales of her cat’s interactions with the animals in her big backyard to her granddaughters, Cheryl is fulfilling a life-long dream by writing her first book.
